Relieve Stress with a Scenic Stroll
Being cramped in an office ALL day sure can get to to you.
I began work at 9:30 this morning and got off just before 6:30.
More than nine hours behind a desk made me feel quite sluggish but I knew I would feel better if I took a simple walk.
I stepped out side, the sun was already long gone and the sky was a light purple. The moon was already up and about, ready to light my way.
I crossed the street to Ala Moana beach park and to my surprise there were several others out and about. Some walking and talking, others jogging with their i-pods in hand.
I wondered why I never did this before. Normally I work out at home with some work out videos…but those can get a little repetitive. Live classes are awesome, but with high gas prices and gym fees attending a class I don’t teach can burn a whole in my pockets.
One thing that’s free and you can do ANYWHERE is a simple walk. It gets your heart pumping and your muscles working… it releases endorphins which equals happiness.
Next time your tired, blue or sluggish…put on your shoes and take a walk…and if your feeling even more adventurous turn it into a hike or jog.
